The group comprises cousins Faisal Hakeem (Paedae da Pralem/Omar Sterling) and Rashid Mugeez (Mugeez).

Their musical journey began in Tema, Ghana, where they grew up listening to various genres of music, from highlife to hip hop.

Drawing inspiration from their surroundings and diverse musical influences, the duo began making music together in the early 2000s. In 2007, R2bees gained mainstream recognition in Ghana with their hit single I Dey Mad, which was followed by Yawa Girl and T.E.M.A.

These songs cemented their place as one of Ghana’s top music acts, and their popularity quickly spread to other African countries.
